Here at Tallis Lab we do love a bit of blogging. We use blogs to:
help document the process of learning and create a narrative of interesting challenges and activities
host a variety of different content including films, images, animation and text
help students share their learning with real audiences and collaborators
encourage students to think about conveying themselves as thoughtful, creative and intelligent digital citizens
showcase their thinking in inventive and creative ways
give them opportunities to develop communication skills using a range of web-based tools
The main blogging platform we use is Tumblr. Although you can pay for some more advanced themes, there are hundreds of free themes and it is really easy to use. To watch a screencast of how to start your own blog, click here for part one and here for part two.
