Your work on the Mold gold cape will have shown you how studying an object can open up all sorts or interesting enquiries and creative thinking. It will also have got you thinking about how objects can get you thinking about the past, present and future. Now it's time to think of an object that is important to you as a starting point for your own project.
Your choice of object is up to you. It could be something everyday, it could be something that has special significance for you, it could be something that you own, it could be something that you wished you owned, it could be something that exists now, it could be something that is from the past. The main thing is that your object interests you and you should be happy to spend some time working on it.
Work through the different steps listed underneath.

The first step is to spend some time thinking about your object. Remember that it is best to think of a range of possible options to start with, and then narrow it down by thinking which of your ideas will be the most interesting to work on.
You could create your own Wallwisher to share your thinking. If you haven't made a wall already you will need to register to make an account. As well as adding stickies with words to your wallwisher remember that you can add links to websites, images and films.
When you have made your wallwisher you can embed it onto your blog or onto your class blog. Remember to use the video widget in Tumblr to add anything with an embed code to your blog.

Being able to explain your thoughts and ideas is a crucial skill. Sometimes explaining your ideas to someone else can help you have a much clearer understanding yourself.
You could just type your ideas and post them on your own and your class blog. There are also lots of other ways of sharing your thoughts:
1. Audio. You could record an Audioboo and post it on your own and your class Tumblr. Audioboo is free, but you will need to register. If you can't audioboo you can use Vocaroo. Both are great ways of building your speaking and listening skills.
2. Animation. Why not make an xtranormal animation to explain your choices. Again, it's free to use, but you do need to register first. The animation creates an embed code that you can use to post it onto a Tumblr blog. Oh No! Xtranormal now charges! Check out this film to see how to avoid any charges. You might be surprised to see that two famous footballers have a lot to say about it. If you can't make an xtranormal you could have a go at a Voki instead. Remember there isn't any point making something if you don't post it so that people can see it.

One of the important parts of this project is to encourage you to start creating your own questions. We don't want you to spend all of your time answering other peoples' questions, instead we want to see you thinking and working on things that intrigue or interest you. Try and think of a range of questions.
You could share your questions using Mindmeister. Like lots of other tools on the internet it is free, but you do need to register to make an account. You can add images and links as well as text to make your mindmap a really useful planning and thinking tool. You can also share your mindmap with other people and plan together. You can also publish your mindmap and create an embed code which can be used to put your mindmap on a website or Tumblr blog. Remember to use the video widget for embed codes. As part of the idea of "Past, Present and Future" project we would like you to experiment with ways of showing and investigating the movement of time. Remember also that we are thinking about the theme of perspectives and how things change depending on time and place.
You could draw a timeline (don't forget to think about the future and the ways in which your object might develop), or you could experiment with this great timeline creator called timetoast. Like the other online tools on this page it is free to use, but you do need to register to make one. You can add events to individual days or create timespans for events that happen over a number of days, months or years.
You can upload images and also add links to films and websites.
